The holder of this certificate shows the potential for meeting the basic foundational consulting competencies as would be expected from an entry-level consultant who has successfully completed the first client-facing engagement. This certificate was awarded upon completion of a thorough, 360-degree performance appraisal comprised of reviews from the CAPADEV professionals (course instructor, coaches, and senior assessors), client counterparts, project peers, and an assessment panel attending the final presentation. The following competencies were assessed for this certificate: 1. Business Acumen: Understanding of business fundamentals and ability to apply them in the context of the project 2. Analytical Aptitude: Demonstration of a cohesive process of structured and analytical thinking and judgment to solve complex business problems 3. Self-Management: Working with resilience, drive and a commitment to achieve results while managing own work and the expectations of others 4. Teamwork & Communication: Promotion of cooperation within the team and ability to convey clear messages that match content, style and language with the audience By delivering the project successfully, the holder of this certificate has completed the below activities to a satisfactory level for an entry level consultant: • Project scoping and the development of a feasible work plan with actions, timelines, milestones, and key deliverables • Clear identification of the core problem, thorough hypothesis-driven analysis, and application of key consulting tools such as issue trees • Assessment of the “baseline” situation (current facts), derivation of insights from best-practices and benchmark comparisons, and subsequent gap analysis • Articulation of recommendations for addressing the core problem identified upfront All activities conducted during the project were documented (e.g. interviews held, minutes of meeting, documents researched, etc.) and submitted as a comprehensive final report to the client. An accompanying PowerPoint presentation was prepared and delivered to senior client staff and evaluated by an assessment panel composed of senior consulting professionals and business executives.
