Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC)
The Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) is a comprehensive 72-hour training program based on Bill Mollison’s Permaculture Designers’ Manual. This certification equips students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to design and implement sustainable living systems in a variety of settings, including urban environments, small farms, and large-scale landscapes.
Graduates of this program have demonstrated proficiency in:
Sustainable System Design: Students learned to apply permaculture principles to design resilient ecosystems. They developed skills in areas such as food production, energy conservation, water management, and soil health, ensuring sustainable and regenerative practices.
Climate-Specific Strategies: The course provided an in-depth understanding of how to adapt permaculture designs to different climates, from humid tropics to arid deserts, ensuring that graduates can create effective solutions in diverse environments.
Holistic Approaches to Land Management: Training included the use of earthworks, aquaculture, and forestry management, enabling graduates to plan and implement comprehensive land management strategies that support ecological balance and productivity.
Alternative Economic and Social Structures: Students explored alternative economic models, community-based strategies, and the establishment of sustainable, local networks, preparing them to support and contribute to ethical and resilient communities.
This certification reflects a strong foundation in permaculture principles and practical experience in designing and implementing sustainable systems. Graduates are equipped to contribute to projects that prioritize environmental stewardship, community resilience, and sustainable development.
