Stainless Steel Simplified

In this 4-hour course you will be provided with high-level, simplified working knowledge of stainless steel; how and why it came to be; what the differences are between the grades and why; how product surface finishes are obtained; types of corrosion typically experienced; and what factors should be considered when selecting a grade.

  • Discuss the importance of traceability and identify the components of Mill Test Certificates
  • Describe the differences in surface finishes that are commercially available – factors that are involved, how they are achieved, tolerances, Ra specifications, and applicability
