Acknowledging Treaty Territory

Sault College in collaboration with Project Learning Tree Canada, an initiative of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, developed this 2-hour online course for individuals in the forestry sector who have little existing knowledge about Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The course provides a brief introduction to First Nation, Métis and Inuit Peoples in Canada and equips learners to deliver a respectful territorial acknowledgment for their local region. It is a compressed module of the Respecting Aboriginal and Treaty Rights Within Sustainable Forest Management course, which is the first in a four-part e-learning series on Indigenous Rights and Relationship Building in the Forestry Sector.
