Global Certified Protection Officer

The Certified Protection Officer is a statement of the Security Professional’s skills, knowledge, and abilities at an operational level. This certification evaluates 12 units of competency, covering 45 subjects relevant to the constantly changing environment of the security profession. Candidates for this certification must meet the following requisites: + One-year full-time security experience (part-time requires two years); + Not have been convicted of any criminal offense that would reflect negatively on the security profession, IFPO, or the certification program; and, + Sign and agree to abide by the IFPO Code of Conduct. In order to become a Certified Protection Officer, the Security Professional must achieve a minimum of 70% on the CPO proctored final exam, consisting of 180 multiple-choice questions. The Internationally recognized CPO program is designed for security officers, team leaders, and supervisors who wish to demonstrate their competency in security and asset protection. The Certified Protection Officer program is for the career-oriented individual who is seeking advancement in this rapidly growing industry. CPO candidates must study “The Professional Protection Officer: Practical Security Strategies and Emerging Trends”, this textbook provides comprehensive, up-to-date information that improves protection officers’ skills and enhances their efficiency. IFPO offers an Online version of the Certified Protection Officer (CPO) training program, as well as self-study and instructor-led training. The CPO certification provides graduates with internationally recognized certification.
