QUALIFIED ASSOCIATE FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification demonstrates a financial planner’s competence and commitment to the highest ethical standards of responsibility. QAFP™ professionals have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, experience and ethics to provide holistic financial planning strategies and solutions related to everyday financial planning needs. QAFP professionals play an important role in helping their clients begin the journey to living life with confidence. QAFP professionals must hold themselves accountable to FP Canada for their professional conduct. What it takes to earn QAFP certification: 1. Complete an FP Canada-approved Core Curriculum program. 2. Complete the Introduction to Professional Ethics course. 3. Pass the QAFP examination. 4. Complete one year of qualifying work experience. 5. Commit to abide by a code of ethics, practice standards and the rules and regulations of FP Canada. What it takes to maintain QAFP certification: 1. Complete the QAFP Professional Education Program or CFP Professional Education Program. 2. Complete annual re-certification requirements, including 12 hours of continuing education each year.
