This course explores the legacy of E G Whitlam, Australia’s 21st Prime Minister.
The Whitlam name is synonymous in Australia with political determination, reform, and visionary policymaking. He left an enduring legacy and a recognition that reform is constant, and that progressive change must be driven and informed by the lived experience of the Australian people.
The Western Sydney University Whitlam Institute presents this short course for those looking to develop their understanding of Whitlam’s legacy. The course aims to connect people with Whitlam institute to explore particular areas of interest and connect with the current work at Western Sydney in order to explore areas of interest including education, health care, heritage, etc.
This short course is useful to anyone who is interested in Australian politics and policies, with the learning materials especially suitable for primary, secondary, and tertiary teachers to use in their curriculum. The specific topics are arranged for participants to choose those of interest to them based on 3 hours of study time.
