Campus Greensboro Cybersecurity Community Challenge - Participant

The Cybersecurity Community Challenge is a virtual week-long event during which student teams from colleges and universities statewide tackled a real-world community issue that could be mitigated by cybersecurity software/research. Teams selected between working on a challenge posed by the City of Greensboro around AI transportation technology, and a challenge posed by Guilford County around phishing emails sent to the health department. 13 student teams from across North Carolina competed in the 2021 event, during which they:
- Engaged in two workshops led by industry leaders on a variety of Cybersecurity topics including: threat and vulnerability management, cybersecurity's effect on varying industries, artificial intelligence, and industry trends.
- Networked with their Success Squad, a pair of community leaders matched to their team - one who severed as a Pitch Coach & Motivator to hep with their vide submission and one who served as a Cybersecurity Expert to gave them feedback on their concept through a real-world lens.
- Created a reasonable concept that integrated cybersecurity, and recorded a 3-minute video pitch for a panel of judges.
