How does an artist make a living? Is the traditional gallery model fit for purpose in today’s world? How do you go about building a collection? Are art fairs worth it? What are the calculations, negotiations and psychological machinations that go into an art deal? Is technology finally going to make the art world more transparent?
These are just some of the questions that will be answered in this course.
Over six weekly sessions, professionals across the art business will share their perspectives on what they do, how they do it, and why. We will meet artists, gallerists, art fair operators, collectors, auction houses and entrepreneurs. Each week, we will look at the financial and economic issues, challenges and opportunities that these different stakeholders face on a daily basis.
