Fire Hydrant Award - Cloud & DevOps: Continuous Transformation
Fernando Ochoa
On behalf of MIT Professional Education, we are pleased to inform you that you have been honored as the recipient of the MIT Professional Education Fire Hydrant Award.
This term was coined by Jerome Wiesner, MIT President from 1971-1980, and it has now become a common refrain in our community: “Getting an education at MIT is like taking a drink from a fire hose.”
Life and learning at MIT is rigorous and demanding, and on occasion it can even be overwhelming. At MIT, we challenge ourselves to solve the world’s problems, and for that reason our professional programs aim to reflect and instill these characteristics.
The experience of learning from the MIT Fire Hydrant isn’t meant to drown you in knowledge. Instead, MIT will help you realize what you can accomplish, far beyond what you might imagine.
