CC-P applicants must have one of the following combinations of education and professional experience: Masters or post-graduate degree and 2+ years working professionally on climate change related projects or initiatives (e.g. GHG management/reduction, climate disaster preparedness, climate change risk assessments, disclosures) - or - Four-year degree and 4+ years working working professionally on climate change related projects or initiatives (e.g. GHG management/reduction, climate disaster preparedness, climate change risk assessments, disclosures) - or - Secondary (high school) degree and 7+ years working working professionally on climate change related projects or initiatives (e.g. GHG management/reduction, climate disaster preparedness, climate change risk assessments, disclosures)
There are four CC-P® exams each of which requires that participants score a 70% or higher: 1. Climate Science & Vulnerability Assessment 2. GHG, Energy & Water Management 3. Governance, Law & Policy 4. Risk Management, Materiality & Economics
Applicants will need to take 14 hours of elective training oriented toward executive or professional development (e.g. undergraduate/graduate courses, conference plenary sessions and site visits/tours may not be applied toward elective requirements). Requirements include satisfying: 3.5 hours oriented toward your employer's sector; 3.5 hours oriented toward your geographic region or region type (e.g. coastal community, high altitude, desert); and 3.5 hours toward your occupation or professional responsibilities.
