Earners of the Critical Security Controls Foundation exam certification have demonstrated foundational knowledge of the CIS Controls. The exam covers topics such as Terms and Definitions, Overview, Importance, Procedures and Tools, and Safeguards for each of the 18 CIS Critical Security Controls. Earning criteria: To earn the Critical Security Controls Foundation certification candidates must successfully pass the following exam: ITC-099: Critical Security Controls Foundation certification exam A score of 70% or higher is required to pass the exam. The ITC-099: Critical Security Controls Foundation is a closed-book and remotely proctored exam. ITCERTS recommends that candidates have at least 6 months of work experience in Cybersecurity before sitting for the exam. This certification is considered good-for-life and does not expire.
