Earners of this badge are able to: • Define what a project is and identify projects in their own environments, • Use project management terminology when discussing the Project Management Institute's 'Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge' (PMBOK® Guide) and outline its content, structure, and purpose, • Draw out PMI's recommended 'management framework' and explain the purpose of the 5 interacting process groups, • Describe the role of the Project Manager and explain what it takes to be effective in a project management role, • Indicate ways in which PMI's framework can be tailored to meet the needs of different types of projects, • Outline common mistakes made in projects and describe the basic building blocks needed to ensure project success, • Explain the key differences between the traditional 'structured' forms of Project Management and the concept of 'agile' Project Management, and • Differentiate projects, programs, and portfolios and describe the differences and relationships between the different management layers.
