After completing this course, the participants will be able to: ● Be able to discuss the difference between generating cash and generating wealth ● Compare the concepts of depletion vs depreciation ● Understand and be able to discuss the core difference between mining and other industries ● Understand the relationship between the cashflow statement, income sheet, and balance sheet ● Perform basic analysis on mining companies’ financial statements ● Develop an understanding of financial ratios as applied to mining companies ● Define IRR, NPV, ROI and develop an understanding of potential pitfalls around single number decision making ● Be able to discuss the factors that affect the cost of capital for mining companies and projects
