This is a short course focused on helping therapists and educators write treatment, service, and educational goals from a DIR perspective. This course will explore the differences between conventional goals and developmental goals. Writing effective developmental goals is much more than simply pulling goals out of a goal bank. The focus of this course is to help participants develop and/or deepen their own capacity to understand, conceptualize, and write developmental goals. The course will use well-established frameworks like SMART goals as well as DIR-based frameworks like FIRMS to assist in writing individualized DIR-focused goals for treatment, service, and educational plans. This is a very practical course for clinicians and educators that are seeking to incorporate DIRFloortime® and the Functional Emotional Developmental Capacities (FEDCs) into the plans they are creating.
Pre-requisite: DIR 101. This course is best suited for those that have earned at least a Basic DIRFloortime certificate (DIR 201) with a minimum requirement of having completed the introductory course (DIR 101).
