AVID Elective Educator Implementation Secondary

The AVID Elective Educator Implementation Secondary micro-credential is awarded to AVID Summer Institute and Path to Schoolwide participants of the Implementation strands for both middle school and high school. This micro-credential represents the skills, behaviors, and mindsets learned in AVID's Implementation strand. This is the first in a series of three micro-credentials for the secondary implementation strands.   AVID Elective Educators: ~Implement the AVID Elective class through WICOR® strategies by preparing students to think critically and succeed in rigorous coursework. ~Utilize and apply the 10 steps of the AVID tutorial process to prepare students to use higher-level inquiry and succeed in collaborative environments. ~Create/maintain a college-going culture that builds relational capacity, and helps students develop self-awareness, sets goals, self- advocate, and engage in their learning. ~Advance the AVID Elective and AVID Schoolwide to provide increased college readiness opportunities for all students.
